Mom removed

King Asa showed incredible courage in his revivial of true worship. 1 Kings reports that that he did right in God’s sight removing idols. And then he actually removed his own mother, Maachah, because she made an idoal for Asherah. It takes guts to remove the queen mother.

Do we love God enough to confront our own family when necessary?

  1. I have been reading the Kings and Chronical’s series of books (they are really well written); to get deeper into God’s word I have been reading Kings 1 & 2 in the bible. This is such fascinating stuff. Time and time again I am in awe of God’s power, our ignorance and His amazing grace and patience (as with Solomon). This would be a great study. Thank You for your devotion to McFBC and your refreshing realness as a Pastor. My Husband and I are so blessed and grateful to be part of this church family.

    • Cool. Way to go with getting deeper into the Word of God. Glad you guys are part of the church family!!! Bruce
